Dance Club was a club at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry founded by Minerva McGonagall at some point after the Battle of Hogwarts. During the week, the students could practise their dancing and they could formally dance in front of their classmates on weekends.[1]
History[]
After the Battle of Hogwarts, Headmistress Minerva McGonagall thought that Hogwarts students needed something fun to be part of. She realised how much the Yule Ball during the Triwizard Tournament had contributed to the morale of the students and decided to make dancing a regular event. As an avid dancer herself, particularly in her younger days, she founded the Dance Club.[1]
In 2008, a new student decided to attend the Dance Club because they had wanted to practise their dancing skills for a while. Professor McGonagall encouraged them to get involved and to persuade their friends to participate too.[1]
