The Dark Hall was a Dungeon at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was built during the Middle Ages by Salazar Slytherin, who intended for the hall's existence to remain secret. It was located far beneath the Hogwarts Dungeons near the Chamber of Secrets. There was a large Suit of armour in the room.[1]

In 1992, Harry Potter visited the Dark Hall with the intention to discover the Chamber of Secrets and kill the ancient Basilisk which infested the school on the command of Salazar Slytherin.
