The Dark Hall was a dungeon at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was built during the Middle Ages by Salazar Slytherin, who intended for the hall's existence to remain secret. It was located far beneath the Hogwarts dungeons near the Chamber of Secrets. There was a large suit of armour in the room.

History

In 1993, Harry Potter visited the Dark Hall with the intention to discover the Chamber of Secrets and kill the ancient Basilisk which infested the school on the command of Salazar Slytherin.

Behind the scenes

• Despite the Dark Hall named only in the PS1 Version of the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, it may also have appeared in the PC version. Also, the entrance may have appeared in the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
