This cell was the topmost one of the Dark Tower at the seventh floor of the tower.[1] It was located by a terrace that overlooked the Middle Courtyard. It was made of rough stone, with a stone bench and several shackles to restrain prisoners.[2]
History[]
At some point between 1269 and 1369, an unidentified medieval Charms Master kept a Troll in this cell on which students could practise challenging spells.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, this tower cell is where Sirius Black is held prisoner, as opposed to Filius Flitwick's office in the West Tower.
- In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, on the Dark Tower level one has to beat the chief Dementor in order to break into the cell and save Sirius Black.
