David Copperfield is a novel written by Charles Dickens, first published in 1850. Considered the most autobiographical of Dickens's novels, it follows the life story of a man named David Copperfield, who has to fend for himself at an early age following the death of his mother.[1]

  • David Copperfield is also the stage name of an American illusionist "described by Forbes as the most commercially successful magician in history."[2]
  • Daniel Radcliffe was approached to audition for the role of Harry Potter in part because director Chris Columbus had screened the TV movie of David Copperfield in which Radcliffe had appeared and said, "I want to at least see this boy."[3]
