Death's Dark Mongrel was an entity in the form of a Mongrel Dog that was found in Niamh Fitzgerald's book. Dark Mongrels obeyed only Death, and fought mainly along the Shadows.

History

In the 1890–1891 school year, a student from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry entered Fitzgerald's storybook to face her trial. After discovering the Elder Wand within the book, they were attacked by the Dark Mongrels. The student wielded the wand to destroy both the Dark Mongrels and the Shadows, ultimately eliminating them all.
