Deliverance Dane (died 15 June 1735) was an American woman accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 and 1693.[1]
History[]
In 1926, Tina Goldstein used her name as an exclamation of surprise, asking Newt Scamander "Why in the name of Deliverance Dane did you let that thing loose?".[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- According to Pottermore, some of the persons executed during the Trials were actual wizards and witches, though it is not stated whether Dane was one.[3]
