Demiguise Statues were scattered throughout the Highlands of Scotland in the late 19th century. They depicted a Demiguise holding a moon, which was intended as a pun on Gladwin Moon's name.[1]
History[]
These statues were created after Piers Pemberton used a Boggart to discover Gladwin Moon's worst fear: a Demiguise. Therefore, he used the statues to scare him as a prank. They would only appear at night, at which time their "Demiguise Moons" (the round orb they held) would shine blue.[1]
In the 1890–1891 school year, Moon asked a new student to remove the statues from the Faculty Tower and Hospital Wing. In exchange, the student was taught the Unlocking Charm by Moon. The student was able to collect more statues and present them to Moon to unlock further levels of the charm.[1]
