The Department for Confiscated Items was a department in the Magical Congress of the United States of America responsible for paperwork relating to prohibited items that had been seized by law enforcement. The paperwork for a confiscated item gave them a Grade of Violation between one and nine and included a checklist of relevant laws that should be referred to.[1]
History[]
During Gellert Grindelwald's imprisonment by MACUSA, his wand and blood pact vial were confiscated and the appropriate Department for Confiscated Items paperwork was filled in for each item, grading both as a nine. Grindelwald re-obtained both items during his escape.[1]
