There were plenty of cafés at South Side, Diagon Alley, in London in the 1990s. There were tables outside them, where diners could have their meals.[1]

In the summer of 1993, while Harry Potter was lodged at the Leaky Cauldron, he would eat in these cafés, listening to his fellow diners' conversations about their purchases.[1]
