Die Silberne Fledermaus was founded in 1794. Its slogan was "Die Wahrheit senkrecht nach unten ins Dunkle" ("The truth straight down into the dark").[2]
In 1932, a headline stated that Vicência Santos and Liu Tao were both running for leadership of the International Confederation of Wizards.[2]

In 1932, a morning edition was published (based on the edition number, there had been on average five editions per day since the founding in 1794). The date read "Die Sonne steht im Wassermann" ("The Sun is in Aquarius"). It was delivered by owl.[2]
