A Disillusionment Chest was a magical chest with an eye. The function of this eye was to guard the chest and what was inside, with the chest preventing itself from being opened if it caught sight of someone trying to open it. The only way to unlock the chest was by using the Disillusionment Charm, which would conceal an individual from the chest's eyesight for long enough to open it and take its contents.[1]
