"...not one mention of underwater exploits in An Anthology of Eighteenth Century Charms, or in Dreadful Denizens of the Deep, or Powers You Never Knew You Had and What To Do With Them Now You've Wised Up..."
— Harry Potter researching[src]

Dreadful Denizens of the Deep is a book about magical creatures that live in the water.[1]

It was one of the books that Harry, Ron, and Hermione examined while preparing for the second task of the Triwizard Tournament in 1995. Harry examined this book in the Gryffindor common room the evening before the second task, but dismissed it as it didn't contain any information that could help a wizard survive underwater for an extended period of time.[1]
