A rubber duck was a type of bathtub toy, shaped in the likeness of a duck, that was fairly common in Muggle society, but may have been rare in the wizarding world, as Arthur Weasley inquired of Harry Potter as to its purpose.[3]
History[]
In 1927, an Animagus was involved with an incident involving a duck, as reported by Le Cri de la Gargouille.[4]
When Herbert Chorley was placed under an ill-performed Imperius Curse, he acted like a duck due to his mind being damaged, and as a result, he had to be removed from the Muggle society while he recovered at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.[5]
During the infiltration of the British Ministry of Magic, Harry Potter overheard an employee of the Muggle-Born Registration Commission mention an episode involving a poisonous duck apparently created by the Committee on Experimental Charms.[6]
