Dumbledore's Memory Cabinet[2] was a gold cabinet owned by Albus Dumbledore, in which he used to store various memories kept in phials.[1]
History[]
A long line of headmasters and headmistresses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry left behind bits and pieces of their life experience in the form of memories, thus providing the current occupant of their former office with an enormous and invaluable library of reference to help them make prudent decisions regarding the running of the school, which would presumably have been kept in this cabinet.[3]
In the 1996–1997 school year, it also held memories pertaining to the research Albus Dumbledore made into Lord Voldemort's background, such as the time they first met at Wool's Orphanage in 1938, and also Horace Slughorn's tampered-with memory of Tom Riddle talking about Horcruxes.[1]
