Duncan Hobhouse (b. 1874/1875) was a wizard and a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century.

Biography

During the 1890–1891 school year, he shared Charms class with the new fifth-year student. Duncan noted that his grandfather was very wise, but also "very mad".

Duncan later asked the new fifth-year to help redeem his reputation as during Professor Dinah Hecat's Defence Against the Dark Arts class on repelling Boggarts, the class learned that his worst fear was Puffskeins. He tried to cover this up by having claimed to have been to the Hidden Herbology Corridor where Professor Mirabel Garlick's predecessor was rumoured to have stored dangerous plants. Duncan hoped the new fifth-year could access the corridor and retrieve the leaf of a giant Venomous Tentacula, and let Duncan have it to show around and demonstrate his bravery.
