The East Wing was a large hall located on the sixth floor of Hogwarts Castle.[1]
Description[]
There was a huge fireplace in the centre of the room and some portraits hung on the walls. There were portraits of Damara Dodderidge, Temeritus Shanks and Edessa Skandenberg, among others in this room. There were various suits of armour, which guarded the room after the sun went down. The entrance was located on the Glanmore Peakes' Corridor and it had an entryway to the room Fred and George Weasley hid the Marauder's Map.[1]
History[]
On the first night of the 1993–1994 school year, Professor Severus Snape, the Potions Master, patrolled the Wing, but Harry Potter still managed to sneak past. There were two fake walls in the room that could be opened to reveal small chambers which each concealed a chest.[1]
