- "Harry and Ron were much tempted by the bottle of Baruffio’s Brain Elixir offered to them by Ravenclaw sixth year Eddie Carmichael, who swore it was solely responsible for the nine “Outstanding” O.W.L.s he had gained the previous summer and was offering the whole pint for a mere twelve Galleons."

Eddie Carmichael (born c. 1978-1979) was a wizard who began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1990.
Biography[]
He was a member of Ravenclaw house and claimed that he achieved nine "Outstandings" in his O.W.L exams. Eddie swore his success was solely as a result of Baruffio's Brain Elixir and attempted to sell it to younger students preparing for their exams, including Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley.
