This vault at Gringotts Wizarding Bank belonged to the dragon slayer Sir Elric Parpidum. During the 1990–1991 school year, it was the subject of an attempted break-in by Eustace Burke, a member of the secret organisation R.[1]
History[]
When Sir Elric Parpidum was active as a dragon slayer several centuries before the 20th century, he used this vault at Gringotts to store the various dragon claws he took as trophies from his kills.[1]
During the 1990-1991 school year, a mysterious Dark wizard wearing a cap (later revealed to be Eustace Burke) attempted to break into the vault due to his belief that it contained the claws of a Chinese Fireball, however he was unable to fully bypass the security of Gringotts and fled without having accessed the vault. When Nymphadora Tonks, Merula Snyde, and Jacob's sibling investigated the break-in as part of their work experience, they eventually helped the Auror Alastor Moody arrest Burke in the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary.[1]
