This gatehouse was located next to the entrance gates of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was situated along the footpath leading up to the castle.
Little is known of its use, apart from the fact it was used by Filius Flitwick, Argus Filch and the Aurors stationed in Hogsmeade during the 1996–1997 school year as a checkpoint while searching the arriving students' belongings.[1] During this same school year, the gatehouse appeared to be in use as smoke was seen eminating from the chimney regularly.[2]
