Epic Movie is a 2007 American parody film directed and written by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer and produced by Paul Schiff. It was made in a similar style to Date Movie, Friedberg and Seltzer's previous film. The film mostly lampoons The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the Harry Potter films and Tim Burton's adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It is, so far, the only film to be solely distributed by Regency Enterprises. The film was heavily panned by both critics and audiences, with many proclaiming it to be among one of the worst films ever made.[3]
Harry Potter parody in film[]
In the film, Peter, Susan and Lucy Pervertski arrive at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in order to train for battling The White Bitch of Gnarnia (a parody of the White Witch from the Narnia series). They meet Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger at the school; Harry is portrayed as middle-aged and greying, Ron as balding and Hermione as pregnant and smoking.[4] Ron teaches them archery, whilst Hermione teaches them spells and Harry teaches them sword fighting. While Peter battles Harry with a sword, Harry calls him a chicken, which enrages Peter. While fiercely training with the sword, Peter fails to notice that Rubeus Hagrid, Minerva McGonagall and Albus Dumbledore are walking past them, who are all accidentally killed by the sword swinging.[5]
