Eradication Spell

The Eradication Spell^[3] (Deletrius) is the incantation for a spell used to disintegrate a target.^[2] It can also be used to erase the shadow of the last spell performed by a wand.^[1]

History

On the 25 August, 1994 after the Quidditch World Cup, during the Reappearance of the Dark Mark Amos Diggory used this spell to erase the ghost image of the Dark Mark he had caused to be emitted from Harry Potter's wand.

Etymology

Latin verb delere meaning to destroy, from which the English word "delete" is derived, meaning to remove.
