- "Take your seats. Today you will be brewing the explosive Erumpent Potion. Any negligence could lead to severe injury. So pay attention. Our lecture on the Erumpent Potion begins. Any foolishness will not be tolerated."

Erumpent Potion, also known as Erumpent Horn Potion,[3] was a potion made from Erumpent parts,[1] such as likely the horn, tail, or the Exploding Fluid. It was highly explosive when it was touched by an outside source, although a method did exist to brew this potion without it exploding.[3]
History[]
In an effort to get himself and his friend Jacob past one of the obstacles standing between them and one of the Cursed Vaults during the 1970s, Duncan Ashe attempted to brew a particularly potent Erumpent Potion, which tragically ended up exploding in his face and killing him.[4] However, Olivia Green appeared to incorrectly remember his death as having been caused by the Draught of the Living Death.[5]
During the 1988–1989 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Severus Snape taught his fifth-years how to concoct this particular brew in Potions class.[1]
