Estonia was a country on the south coast of the Baltic Sea in Northern Europe.[1] It shared a land border with Latvia to the south, northern maritime and eastern land borders with Russia, and a maritime border with Finland to the north.[1]

In the summer of 1996, John Terry, the captain of the England national football team, was forced to sit out a match against the Estonian national team due to a knee injury, but his team ultimately won despite his absence.[2]
