- "My name was down for Eton, you know. I can't tell you how glad I am I came here instead. Of course, Mother was slightly disappointed, but since I made her read Lockhart's books I think she's begun to see how useful it'll be to have a fully trained wizard in the family..."
- — Justin Finch-Fletchley to Harry Potter[src]
Eton College was a prestigious all-boys Muggle public school located near Windsor in Berkshire, England.[1] It was well known for having many famous alumni, including twenty former Prime Ministers of Britain[3] and several members of the British royal family.[4]
History[]
Justin Finch-Fletchley, a Muggle-born wizard, had his name down for Eton prior to being accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which he began attending in 1991. He claimed that his mother was initially disappointed in the discovery of his magical powers, but after reading some of Gilderoy Lockhart's books, accepted how useful it would be to have a wizard in the family.[2]
