Europa is one of the natural satellites orbiting Jupiter. It is mostly covered with ice. It was studied in Astronomy classes, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1] It held the highest potential of holding intelligent life.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the Muggle world, Europa was discovered in 1610 by Galileo Galilei (and possibly independently by Simon Marius) around the same time, and named after a mythical Phoenician noblewoman, Europa, who was courted by Zeus and became the queen of Crete.[3]
