"Then he waved the wand once, and the letters of his name rearranged themselves..."
This page is being considered for renaming to Wand dummy. If you would like to discuss this proposal, please leave a comment at Talk:Fake wand. |
Fake wands are a strip of wood with no magical properties. Anticipating a riot, the Ministry of Magic confiscated wands of the Holyhead Harpies and Puddlemere United fans at the gates prior to the match. However most of the fans only turned in fake wands.
Sometime after Lord Voldemort's return to the open, two Death Eaters pleaded guilty to dealing in fake wands.[1]
Behind the scenes
- Despite its general lack of success, the very attempt of the confiscation of wands by the Ministry was a flagrant violation of civil rights, as the right to carry a wand at all times was established by the International Confederation of Wizards in 1692.[2]
