Fawcett was the surname of a wizarding family that lived near Ottery St Catchpole in Devon, England.[1] They lived near the Weasley, Diggory, and Lovegood wizarding families.
The only known member of this family was S. Fawcett, a witch who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the 1990s[2] and who was Sorted into Ravenclaw house. In 1994, the Fawcetts tried unsuccessfully to get tickets to the Quidditch World Cup.[1]
Etymology[]
Fawcett is an English surname and the name of the main street in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England. The Fawcett Society is an organisation in the United Kingdom that promotes women's rights. It also has a similar pronunciation to the word "faucet", a kind of water valve.
