The Herbivicus Charm, also known as the Herbivicus Spell or Gardening Charm, (Herbivicus) was a charm used to rapidly increase the growth rate of plants and cause flowers to bloom. Herbivicus Duo was a stronger version of this charm.

Effects

Upon casting, a twisting jet of brilliant green light would shoot from the wand. A crackling ball of emerald-green energy would appear at the tip of the wand, with an identical one appearing at the plant one was charming, with a thick jet of green light connected them. The plant would rapidly begin blooming.

History

Red roses bloomed with the Herbivicus Charm in Herbology

Around Valentine's Day in 1988, to celebrate the holiday, classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry provided subject-related lessons, and this charm was taught in fourth-year Herbology class for the special occasion by Professor Pomona Sprout. She specifically taught them how to grow red roses with the charm.

A spellbook which detailed how to cast this charm was owned by Professor Sprout, which she used to help teach the charm to her Herbology students, from the fourth year onward, the year this spell was taught. This spellbook could be found in the Hogwarts greenhouses.

Volunteers of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force were advised on using this charm by Constance Pickering to help accelerate the growth of plants they grew in Greenhouses, for usage in Potion-making.

	1989–1990 school year	Jacob's sibling used this charm to rapidly bloom a knotgrass plant in the Herbology Classroom after them and their friends took some from there for Polyjuice Potion, so Professor Sprout would not be suspicious about missing plants in the classroom.
	1990–1991 school year	Used it to regrow Nymphadora Tonks's ravaged Alihotsy plant so it would be suitable for inspection in Herbology, as it was the only way to get it back to health in time.

• This spell may be related to Rose Growth, a charm which has identical effects, but which presumably only works on rose bushes.
• This spell was never actually called the "Herbivicus Charm" in the Goblet of Fire video game; it was in fact called the "Herbivicus Spell", but the aforementioned was assumed by editors of the Harry Potter Wiki and thus made it the spell's official name. The fact that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery calls this spell the "Herbivicus Charm" implies that the game's developers and writers take much information and inspiration for game content from this wiki.
