Albus Dumbledore: "A safe house in Paris, reinforced with enchantments."
Newt Scamander: "Safe house? Why would I need a safe house in Paris?"
Albus Dumbledore: "One hopes you won't, but should things at some point go terribly wrong, it's good to have a place to go. You know, for a cup of tea."
Albus Dumbledore and Newton Scamander in 1927[src]

Flamel House was a 15th-century house located in Rue de Montmorency, in Paris, and was the home of famous alchemist Nicolas Flamel and his wife.[2]

Description[]

It was the oldest stone house standing in Paris.[3] It had at least three floors,[4] with a wooden spiral staircase in the drawing room that led up to the second floor.

The drawing room was "creepy" and "medieval", sporting tapestries featuring moving pictures and odd runes. A crystal ball is kept on a table in a corner.[5] Flamel's alchemist's studio opens to the drawing room. Within the studio, there is a cupboard in which Flamel keeps glass vials and tubes, the Philosopher's Stone, and a padlocked book embossed with a phoenix.[6]

Nicolas and his wife Perenelle Flamel never kept food in their house.[6]
