Fish stew is a generic name for a stew with fish as a base or an ingredient.[2]

Badeea Ali's mother often cooked fish stew for her family.[1]
During the 1988–1989 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Badeea Ali made an enchanted fish stew for the Great Hogwarts Cook-Off.[1]
Recipe[]
Ingredients[]
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 large garlic cloves
- 2/3 cup fresh parsley
- 2 medium carrots, chopped
- 1.5 cup fresh tomato, chopped
- 2 tsp tomato paste
- 250 g clam juice
- 680 g fish fillets (of your choice)
- Pinch of oregano
- Pinch thyme
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 1/8 tsp black pepper[3]
Directions[]
- Heat olive oil in large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and carrots, and saute 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook a minute more. Add parsley and stir 2 minutes. Add tomato and tomato paste, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add clam juice and fish. Bring to a simmer and simmer until fish is cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Add salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, cilantro. Add more salt and pepper to tase. Laddle into bowls and serve!
