Flannery was a warlock who went on a murderous rampage in 1783. He killed Hamish Steed who was under the protection of the Ministry of Magic. Later, the Daily Prophet reported Flannery had used an ancient spell to track him down. Sage Bragnam thought the story was implausible and that the Daily Prophet report was an exaggeration, although the issue reporting the murder was mysteriously not included in the Ministry archives.[1]
