"A flask, conjured from thin air, was thrust into his shaking hands by Hermione."
— Description[src]

This unidentified spell (incantation unknown) conjured a glass flask out of thin air. On 1 May, 1998, Hermione Granger used this spell to collect the memories of a dying Severus Snape.[1]

History[]

Creation[]

On the night of 1 May, 1998 at approximately eleven o'clock, Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger met Professor Severus Snape in the Shrieking Shack.[1]

The latter had been sliced apart by Tom Riddle's snake Nagini. He was quickly dying, and urged Harry to take the memories that flew from him as his life drained away. Hermione, her hands shaking slightly, conjured this flask to capture the memories in.[1]

Use and post-use[]

"The green eyes found the black, but after a second something in the depths of the dark pair seemed to vanish, leaving them fixed, blank and empty. The hand holding Harry thudded to the floor, and Snape moved no more."
— The death of Severus Snape[src]

Harry took the flask with trembling hands and carefully retrieved his late Professor's memories at the latter's urging. When the last of Snape's life had left him, Harry returned to the castle where he viewed Snape's memories in Albus Dumbledore's Pensieve.[1]

It is unknown what happened to the flask; it presumably ceased to exist as all conjured objects tend to over time.
