The Forest Grove was a location in the Forbidden Forest.[1]
History[]
It was the location of the Forest Vault, one of the five Cursed Vaults of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[3]
During the 1987–1988 school year, Jacob's sibling entered the Forest Grove to access the Forest Vault, and had to fight the Acromantula that was guarding, defeating it with Arania Exumai.[3]

During the 1988–1989 school year, the Dark witch Corrine Cribb lured a Hodag to the Forest Grove with Mooncalf Essence in order to steal it and take its horns, a valuable potion ingredient. Jacob's sibling encountered her with the hodag and challenged her to a duel and defeated her, but Cribb escaped with the Hodag using Apparition.[4]
During the 1989–1990 school year, Jacob's sibling encountered Liz Tuttle, Chiara Lobosca and Borf with a mysterious white owl, called Artemis, and unfortunately scared the owl off as Liz was petting it.[5]
Rakepick duelling students in the Forest Grove
In 1990, Patricia Rakepick engaged in a duel with Ben Copper, Merula Snyde and Jacob's sibling in the Forest Grove, which resulted in Rakepick killing Rowan Khanna with the Killing Curse, who had dived in front of the curse to save Ben Copper's life.[6]
Jacob's sibling and their friends later returned to the Forest Grove to search for clues relating to Rakepick or "R". However, they were ambushed by a white werewolf; Jacob's sibling fought the werewolf off with magic before Chiara Lobosca appeared in her werewolf form to chase it away. Torvus then appeared on the scene to inform that Firenze had knowledge of Sybill Trelawney's prophecy and to meet them again at the Centaur Camp once they knew about Cetus.[7]
During the 1990–1991 school year, Nymphadora Tonks took her Alihotsy plant to the Forest Grove in an attempt to keep it safe for her N.E.W.T. Herbology assignment, but a Red Cap found it and devoured its leaves, giving it laughter fits. Tonks showed Jacob's sibling the virtually dead plant in the Grove.[8]
