"Ron and Hermione were supposed to be studying for their exams, which would finish on the day of the third task, but they were putting most of their efforts into helping Harry prepare."
Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger's priorities regarding their fourth year exams[src]

All fourth-year students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were required to complete a set of examinations to get into their fifth year. There was one test for each subject a particular student took. Not much is known about fourth year exams as Harry Potter did not have to take these exams in during the 1994–1995 school year, as he was a Hogwarts Triwizard Champion. He spent most of the time when he would have otherwise been preparing for them reading up on useful spells for the Triwizard Tournament.[1]

The end-of-year exams for previous years generally focused on material that was covered within the previous year in class. Therefore, amongst the material likely to have been covered would be the Summoning Charm and Banishing Charm in Charms and Blast-Ended Skrewts and Nifflers in Care of Magical Creatures. The History of Magic exam most likely involved testing students on their knowledge of Goblin rebellions.
