The Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France (literally, the "Ministry of Magical Affairs of France"), also known as the French Ministry of Magic, governs the wizarding community in France.

The French Ministry's motto is "Incanté, Envouté, Conjuré" (French for "Casted, Bewitched, Conjured")

Headquarters

Visitor's Entrance

A wallace Fountain served as the visitor's entrance, it is located Place de Furstemberg (Furstemberg Square) in Paris 6th District.

History

The Ministry was founded in 1790.

Because of her participation in the world-famous Battle of Hogwarts on 2 May, 1998, Fleur Delacour was awarded medals of bravery from both the British and French Ministries of Magic.[1]

Government structure

Bureaux

The French Ministry of Magic has several bureaux in all, each dealing with different aspects of the wizarding world. They are equivalent to the departments for the British Ministry of Magic and the MACUSA.

Some of the bureaux include: Bureau de la Justice Magique, Bureau des Magicommunications, Bureau des Aurors and Bureau des Affaires Gastromagiques.

Behind the scenes

  • It was founded in 1790 during the French Revolution, hence the use of a motto similar to the French muggles' motto ("Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité") and revolutionary imagery such as the French Tricolour, the Cockade or the Phrygian cap.
