From Egg to Inferno: a Dragon-Keeper's Guide is a book about dragon breeding that is kept in the Hogwarts Library. The book contains everything one might need to know about breeding dragons, but contains no information on how to tame one as the author considered this "too dangerous".[3][2]

Rubeus Hagrid consulted the library's copy of this book when he first got the dragon egg that eventually hatched into a female Norwegian Ridgeback that Rubeus Hagrid mistakenly named Norbert, believing it to be a male.[2]
