Geraint Ollivander was a wandmaker from ancient times who came from a long line of wizards who began selling wands in Britannia in 382 B.C. He considered it an honour to match a witch or wizard with a wand made from the wood of the cypress tree because it indicated he had met someone who was going to die heroically.[1] For more than two millenia, his family would continue to sell wands, and the name Ollivander became known for the best made wands int he country.
