The Gilded Perch was a location in the countryside near Hogsmeade in the Hogwarts Valley of the Scottish Highlands.[1][2]
History[]

In the 1890–1891 school year, Hufflepuff student Poppy Sweeting and her friend visited the Gilded Perch to search for and rescue Golden Snidget eggs from poachers. During the search, they killed a pair of aggressive Dugbogs.[1][2]
Later, in a ruin within the Gilded Perch, the two students battled Victor Rookwood's poacher group. With timely help from two centaurs (Dorran and Elek), they managed to win the battle and rescue the hatchling Snidgets.[1][2]
Afterwards, the Snidgets were placed under the protection of the Forbidden Forest centaur colony, helping to ensure their continuing existence. As a result, Professor Matilda Weasley learnt from the centaurs that her students were involved in the battle in the Gilded Perch, and the increasing prevalence of Snidgets.[1]
