Gnosticism was a term applied to a number of Christian religious and philosophical movements that emerged in the 2nd century A.D.. In general, Gnostics believed that the material universe was created by a lesser deity, the demiurge, but that the spirit could be redeemed by esoteric knowledge (gnosis) received from a hidden deity.[1][2][3]
The 2085th issue of Transfiguration Today, published in 1926, included a feature on Gnostic Runes.[4]
