Mundungus Fletcher: "Sirius? This solid silver, mate?"
Sirius Black: "Yes. Finest fifteenth-century goblin-wrought silver, embossed with the Black family crest."
Mundungus Fletcher: "That’d come off, though."
— Mundungus Fletcher's financial interest in these goblets[src]

The Black family's goblin-made goblets were made of goblin-wrought silver. They had several of these, made in 15th century, finely wrought, and embossed with their family crest, in Number 12 Grimmauld Place.[1][2]

History[]

"You took that from Sirius’s house. That had the Black family crest on it."
— Harry Potter confronting Mundungus Fletcher of his theft of these goblets[src]

In August 1995, whilst the Order of the Phoenix were using 12 Grimmauld Place as their secret headquarters, Mundungus Fletcher inquired Sirius Black about these goblets, with informing him of their value and how the House of Black family crest was embossed on them. Mundungus muttered under his breath that the crests could be removed, showing his intention to steal and sell the goblets.[1]

Mundungus Fletcher stole these goblets after Sirius Black died in 1996, with the intention of selling them for a good profit. Harry Potter furiously confronted Fletcher about his theft of these items outside the Three Broomsticks Inn in Hogsmeade, pinning him against the wall.[2]
