Goblin-made ironwork, also known as goblin-wrought iron, was iron made and enchanted by goblins, presumably in a similar manner as goblin's silver.
History[]
- "Well-known for his metalwork. I would imagine much of his goblin-wrought iron and silver has survived to this very day."
- — Professor Binns talking about Bragbor the Boastful[src]
Bragbor the Boastful was a famous goblin smith during the Tudor period who was well known for his high quality goblin-wrought iron and silver. Professor Binns was of the opinion that many of his creations would have survived, at least to the late 19th century.[1]
The Firebolt used goblin-made ironwork in its metal parts, including its footrests, stand, and twig bands. The exact benefits of the use of this metal is unclear, but it was believed to have provided great power and stability in adverse weather conditions, and the iron prevented slippage, making it ideal for the footrests. Production of goblin-made ironwork was limited, however, as the goblins involved in making it were prone to strikes and walkouts.[2]
