Gobstone to Skunk (incantation unknown) was a transforming spell that turned a gobstone into a skunk.[1]
History[]
During the 1988–1989 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Minerva McGonagall taught her fifth-years how to perform this particular transforming spell in Transfiguration class during the outdoor celebration of magic. She taught the lesson outside in the Clock Tower Courtyard, due to the stink that skunks produced.[1]
During the celebration, when Gilderoy Lockhart began to severely annoy Jacob's sibling after he insisted to continue doing friendly duels with each other, Jacob's sibling used this spell to create a skunk, which then sprayed Lockhart, causing him to smell foul and finally leave.[1]
This spell was also capable of transfiguring a feather duster into a skunk. During the 1989–1990 school year, when Wilfred Levi Kidd attempted the Feather Duster to Ferret spell, he confused it with this spell and turned the feather duster into a skunk instead.[2]
