This Graphorn was born to a mother Graphorn in the 1980s.[1]
Biography[]
During the 1987–1988 school year, relatively soon after being born to its mother, this baby Graphorn was captured by a mountain troll, who had desired to tame a Graphorn on which to ride, and was brought to its cave in the Forbidden Forest. Its mother attempted to fight the troll in order to rescue her baby, but was unsuccessful. The mother was separated from the troll by Rubeus Hagrid, who brought her back to the Desert Dunes in the Magical Creatures Reserve. However, the Graphorn, still attempting to rescue her baby, regularly escaped from the reserve and rampaged around Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, leading to Hagrid requesting the aid of Jacob's sibling, who also called in Barnaby Lee for help.[1]
After determining that the Graphorn had recently given birth and was rampaging in search of her baby, Jacob's sibling, Barnaby, Hagrid, and the mother Graphorn managed to track the baby Graphorn and the troll to the Forest Grove. After briefly chasing off the troll and allowing the mother Graphorn to gather her strength, the group continued to track the troll until they reached the Forest Lake, at which point they could no longer follow its footprints. After making Graphorn calls to draw out the baby, the baby's path to reuniting with his mother was blocked by the mountain troll, leading to the group attempting to distract the troll. Eventually, the troll grew tired of the conflict and left the area, finally allowing the Graphorn mother and baby to reunite.[1]
