This giant was the father of Grawp, stepfather of Rubeus Hagrid and husband of Fridwulfa. His height was unknown, but according to Hermione, most giants were around 20 feet tall (6 meters). Grawp's height ("only" 16 feet tall) may have indicated that his father was shorter than average, or Grawp could simply be shorter than his father.[1]
It's unknown if he is still alive as Hagrid never noted his presence in the Giant colony or lack-thereof. It's also unknown if he was one of the giants who joined Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters or if he was one of the few who hid out in the surrounding caves, assuming he was still alive at that point.
