- "Harry swam faster and soon saw a large rock emerge out of the muddy water ahead. It had paintings of merpeople on it; they were carrying spears and chasing what looked like the giant squid. Harry swam on past the rock, following the mersong."
- — Harry Potter swimming pass the paintings on the rock[src]
There was a large rock on the bottom of the Great Lake that was illustrated with merpeople's paintings. They depicted a group of merpeople who were carrying spears and chasing a Giant Squid, most likely the Hogwarts Giant Squid.[1]
History[]
On 24 February 1995, during the Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament, the fourth champion Harry Potter swam past the large rock and noticed the paintings while on his way to the merpeople village to recover something which was taken.[1]
