The Grey Lady Corridor[3] was a corridor overlooking the Middle Courtyard at Hogwarts Castle.[1][2]
Contents[]
It opened up into an adjacent chamber, which itself contained a spiral staircase to an upper level.[1][2] The corridor was located near the Ravenclaw Tower staircase.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry and Hermione sit in this corridor while she cries, having witnessed Ron publicly kiss Lavender Brown.[1] In the novel, these events take place in a deserted seventh-floor classroom. Therefore, the appearance of this corridor cannot be considered canonical, as the books rank higher than the films in terms of canon.
- In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, this is where Luna Lovegood takes Harry so that he can ask the Grey Lady about Ravenclaw's Diadem. Again, this scene differs from the book, in which Nearly-Headless Nick points her out to Harry, and the two talk in a corridor off the Entrance Hall.
- In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, this corridor looks different and does not overlook the Middle Courtyard. Thereofre, it is not necessarily known whether the corridor shown in the game is the same as this corridor, or if it is meant to be the corridor presented in the books.
