The Gryffindor Medal of Excellence was a medal awarded by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to a student, Gryffindor or otherwise, who had shown exemplary commitment to the ideals of Gryffindor House.[1]
History[]
During the 1986–1987 school year, after Jacob's sibling had helped Professor and Head of Ravenclaw House Filius Flitwick prepare for and win the Toothill Duelling Club Invitational Tournament, Flitwick awarded Jacob's sibling the Ravenclaw Medal of Excellence, claiming that they may be able to earn the rest of the Houses' medals with continued hard work.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- Although the player obtains this medal at the end of the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Year 3, "GRYFFINDOR CELEBRATION" Achievement, it isn't actually referenced in any of the dialogue of that quest. Rather, the only reference to it is made when Flitwick tells the player that, if they keep up the hard work, they'll likely earn the medals of each House. This is a nod to the player by Jam City, hinting at the other House-focused side-quests.
