The witch Mirabella Plunkett was famous for having transfigured herself into a haddock after her family forbade her to marry a merman.[2] Whilst duelling his friend Ron Weasley with a trick wand in a fourth-year Transfiguration class, Harry Potter's toy turned into a haddock.[3]
