- "I've a lot of strange things growin' out in my near my garden; yer welcome to go take a look. Be careful mind - wouldn't go wanderin' round at night."
- — Rubeus Hagrid[src]
Hagrid's Garden was an area surrounding Rubeus Hagrid's hut. His pumpkin patch was also within this area.[1]
History[]
During the 1984–1985 school year, a colony of fairies lived in the garden. When Professor Severus Snape tried to pluck the wings from the fairies in order to use them for a lesson on the Beautification Potion, Hagrid asked for Jacob's sibling and their fairy's help in relocating the colony to the Magical Creatures Reserve. Jacob's sibling agreed and managed to get all the fairies into the reserve, but had to smuggle one out of the Potions Classroom after it flew in there.[2]
Plants found in the garden included fire seed bushes[3] and Valerian sprigs.[1] Harry Potter and Ron Weasley looked for ingredients for potions here for their classes.[3]
This was also where Hagrid hid the leprechaun gold for Nifflers in one of his fourth-year Care of Magical Creatures classes during the 1994–1995 school year.[4]
In 1995, Bartemius Crouch Junior buried his father here, after murdering him and transforming his corpse into a bone.[5]
