A hammer was a hand tool used to deliver an impact to a small area of an object.[3]
History[]
In July 1991, in an attempt to prevent letters from reaching Harry Potter, Vernon Dursley used a hammer to board up the cracks around the front and back doors of 4 Privet Drive.[1]
During the 1995–1996 school year, while she was holding the position of Hogwarts High Inquisitor, Dolores Umbridge had the caretaker Argus Filch hammer several notices (mostly Educational Decrees) onto the castle walls.[2]
The Limax, a creature of uncertain classification, was described as having a wide, hammer-shaped head.[4]
In order to prepare fertiliser, a potion, bones were required to be crushed with a hammer.[5]
